Easy-to-sew beach towels for Blythe dolls
Hi guys, after a long break of no sewing for our Blythe dolls, I’m finally posting a new creation. And I have some other news.
After 10 years of collecting Blythes I stopped enjoying them last year. And I discovered the new ranges of Barbie dolls that have articulation and diversity. As photogenic and adorable Blythes are, it really gets monotonous when you can’t pose them in various ways.
So, I started taking photos of Barbies and posting on Instagram under the name of sunidoll. And I’ve now started a blog where I’ll be posting sewing and craft projects for dolls, including Blythes.
Please come and join in the fun there. I’ll try to include Blythes in my posts as much as possible.
My first sewing project for sunidoll is a free pattern for sewing beach towels. They are the right size for Blythe dolls, too. I hope you check it out and tag me if you share your results on instagram, etc.
Snow Princess dress knitting pattern for Blythe dolls
Bring out your Blythe doll’s inner princess with a new knitted dress that is lacey, fluffy, and sparkly. The pattern for the Snow Princess knitted dress is available to purchase in my Etsy store.
A soft and delicate knitted dress for Blythe dolls. It is knitted in one piece from metallic silver and fluffy white yarns but also looks great in one yarn. The dress has an open back above the skirt and requires no snaps or buttons.
Skill level: intermediate. The pattern uses decorative cast on and bind off methods, k3tog, yo and m1 increases.
Feel free to make and sell items in your own shop using this pattern. All I ask is that you credit me for the pattern. And I’d love to see your creations!
Coco sweater knitting pattern for Blythe dolls
I’ve designed a new knitting pattern for Blythe dolls, available in my Etsy store. The Coco Sweater is a fun short-sleeved sweater reminiscent of Pierrot the clown with its rolled ribbed collar and bobbles/pom poms down the front and also a little Coco Chanel with the contrasting trim.
The pattern is recommended for those with an intermediate level of knitting skills. The pattern uses bobbles and increases (M1L, M1R), though the bobbles can be replaced with store bought pom poms. It is knit in one piece from the top down and uses increases to shape. Under the sleeves are the only parts that need seaming.
Items made from the pattern can be sold.
Snuggly felted blanket for Blythe and other 1:6 scale (playscale) dolls
I thought I’d share some instructions on how I made this little blanket for my Blythe dolls. It’s knit with a feather and fan stitch pattern and Noro Kureyon yarn. I found the colours a bit bold for such a small scale so I felted it and am very happy with the results. It could easily be scaled up for other dolls, such as American Girl and Waldorf dolls. The instructions are free to download.

Bedding for playscale dolls and technique for ageing dolly furniture
I have been inspired to make some new bedding for my Blythe dolls with some pillows that actually look soft enough to lie on 🙂 The pattern is available in my Etsy store and you can sell handmade items made from the pattern. It was really fun to do and very addictive – I have 3 more design themes in my head already.
